The present study aimed to establish the relationship between organizational commitment and work-related stress among teachers at the Independencia Nacional Secondary Educational Institution in the city of Puno during the year 2025. The research was conducted under a quantitative approach, with a correlational type and a non-experimental cross-sectional design, seeking to identify how both variables interact within the educational context. The sample consisted of 37 teachers, selected through non-probabilistic sampling. For data collection, the Meyer and Allen (1997) questionnaires were applied to assess organizational commitment across its three dimensions (affective, continuance, and normative), along with the instrument proposed by the ILO/WHO to measure the level of work-related stress. Spearman’s Rho coefficient was used for statistical analysis, considering a significance level of p < 0.05. The results indicated that there is no statistically significant relationship between organizational commitment and work related stress (Rho = 0.308; p = 0.063), although a weak positive trend was observed. Regarding the dimensions, the affective dimension obtained Rho = 0.231, the continuance dimension Rho = 0.321, and the normative dimension Rho = 0.176, none of which were statistically significant. It is concluded that organizational commitment and work-related stress coexist in the teaching environment but do not directly condition one another. The findings highlight the need to strengthen emotional well-being, institutional recognition, and workplace well-being policies in order to consolidate a balanced organizational commitment that supports teachers’ professional and personal development.
