La presente investigación titulada “Adicción a redes sociales y procrastinación académica en estudiantes de nivel secundaria de una Institución Educativa Pública del Centro de Lima, 2023”, tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre el uso excesivo de las redes sociales y procrastinación académica en estudiantes de nivel secundaria de una Institución Educativa Pública del Centro de Lima en el año 2023, en el que participaron 166 estudiantes. El tipo de estudio es básica, de método hipotético deductivo y de diseño nivel correlacional. Se usó el cuestionario de adicción a redes sociales (ARS) y la escala de procrastinación académica (EPA). Los hallazgos indican que existe una correlación significativa entre ambas variables (rho=0.432) y valor (p= .000). Es decir, si los estudiantes de la Institución Educativa Pública del Centro de Lima tienen un uso excesivo de redes sociales, tendrán mayor postergación académica.

The present research entitled "Social media addiction and academic procrastination in high school students of a Public Educational Institution in the Center of Lima, 2023", aimed to determine the relationship between excessive use of social media and academic procrastination in high school students of a Public Educational Institution in the Center of Lima in the year 2023, in which 166 students participated. The type of study is basic, with a hypothetical deductive method and a correlational level design. The social media addiction questionnaire (ARS) and the academic procrastination scale (EPA) were used. The findings indicate that there is a significant correlation between both variables (rho=0.432) and value (p= .000). That is, if the students of the Public Educational Institution in the Center of Lima have excessive use of social media, they will have greater academic postponement.
