Objective: To establish the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of biosafety measures in the nursing staff of the emergency service of a Hospital in Lima in 2022. Methods: This research was carried out using the hypothetical-deductive method, in order to minimize the complexity of the research problem through the analysis of the various characteristics of the variables. The research approach was quantitative and applied, not experimental with a correlational design. The population is made up of a total of 80 people who make up the nursing staff working in the emergency service of a Hospital in Lima. The sample was obtained through inclusion and exclusion methods in order to obtain true and reliable information about the study variables. The technique used for the research was the survey, through the application of two duly validated instruments; the first is a questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge of biosafety measures; and the second corresponds to a checklist of the practice of biosafety measures by nursing staff.
Resumen
Objetivo: Establecer la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica de las medidas de bioseguridad en el personal de enfermería del servicio de emergencias de un Hospital en Lima en el año 2022. Métodos: la presente investigación se realizó mediante el método hipotético-deductivo, con la finalidad de minimizar la complejidad del problema de investigación a través del análisis de las diversas características propias de las variables. El enfoque de la investigación fue cuantitativo y de tipo aplicada, no experimental con diseño correlacional. la población está conformada por una totalidad de 80 personas que conforman el personal de enfermería que labora en el servicio de emergencia en un Hospital de Lima, la muestra fue obtenida a través de métodos de inclusión y exclusión con el fin de obtener la información verídica y confiable acerca de las variables de estudio. la técnica empleada para la investigación fue la encuesta, a través de la aplicación de dos instrumentos debidamente validados; el primero es un cuestionario para medir el nivel de conocimiento de medidas de bioseguridad; y el segundo corresponde a un check list de la práctica de las medidas de bioseguridad del personal de enfermería.
