Objective: To determine the relationship between empathy and academic stress in students of the IX and X cycle of the Nursing career of the Norbert Wiener University, 2023. Methodology: A hypothetical-deductive methodology was developed, with a quantitative approach, type applied with a non-specific design. experimental, descriptive correlational cross-sectional level; with a sample of 150 students, where the "Toronto Empathy (TEQ)" instruments were applied, which measure the Empathy variable and the "SISCO Inventory", which measures academic stress. Results: The descriptive analysis focused on the most outstanding, it was obtained that 34.0% presented high Empathy for moderate academic stress, 12.7% Low Empathy for moderate academic stress, on the other hand it was also shown that there is a relationship between Empathy and Academic Stress, through a statistical significance (p=0.001), in turn a low positive correlation (rho=0.167) was found in the students of the IX and X cycle of the Nursing career at Norbert University Wiener. Conclusion: It was determined that the interns of the IX and X cycle of the Nursing career of the Norbert Wiener University have a high level of empathy despite going through moderate academic stress, thus demonstrating good humanized care for both people They suffer from different diseases as for themselves.
Resumen
Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la empatía y estrés académico en estudiantes del IX y X ciclo de la carrera de Enfermería de la Universidad Norbert Wiener, 2023. Material y métodos: El enfoque metodológico utilizado fue cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal correlacional y descriptivo. La muestra fueron 150 estudiantes del IX y X ciclo de la carrera de Enfermería, siendo seleccionadas por criterios de inclusión y exclusión de la investigación. Para medir las características sociodemográficas, se utilizó los instrumentos “Empatía de Toronto (TEQ)” que mide la variable Empatía y el “Inventario SISCO”, que mide el estrés académico.
