Chronic kidney disease is a multifactorial pathophysiological process of gradual and irreversible condition that leads to a terminal state, where the patient demands renal replacement therapy, that is, dialysis or transplant in order to survive. Elderly patients on hemodialysis have greater associated comorbidity and worse quality of life, associated with a high degree of dependency. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of quality of life and functional dependence in older adult patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen Hospital - 2020. The present research is quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational. . The population and sample will be made up of 84 elderly patients with functional dependence undergoing hemodialysis in the Nephrology service during the months of July to September 2020. The technique for data collection is the survey and the instrument is two questionnaires: SF - 36 that evaluates quality of life, and the Barthel Index that evaluates functional dependence.
Resumen
La enfermedad renal crónica es un proceso fisiopatológico multifactorial de condición gradual e irreversible que conlleva a un estado terminal, donde el paciente demanda terapia de reemplazo renal, es decir diálisis o trasplante para poder subsistir. Los pacientes de edad avanzada en hemodiálisis tienen mayor comorbilidad asociada y peor calidad de vida, asociado al elevado grado de dependencia. El objetivo de este estudio es determinar la relación entre el Nivel de calidad de vida y dependencia funcional en pacientes adultos mayores sometidos a Hemodiálisis del Hospital Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen – 2020. La presente investigación es de tipo cuantitativa, no experimental, transversal, descriptiva y correlacional. La población y muestra estará conformada por 84 pacientes adultos mayores con dependencia funcional sometidos a hemodiálisis en el servicio de Nefrología durante los meses de Julio a Setiembre del 2020. La técnica para la recolección de datos es la encuesta y el instrumento son dos cuestionarios: el SF - 36 que evalúa la calidad de vida, y el Índice de Barthel que evalúa la dependencia funcional.
